Say Hello to My Little Friend!!!

I got into a car accident on Saturday afternoon. Since then I've been using cold packs like crazy and they are my new best friends. I love the feeling of chilling my body to the bone. Nothing else rarely compares. My neck is stiff and most of my left side seems to be in pain.
Just for the record, it wasn't my fault. The car I hit decided to go straight on a must-turn-left lane and so I hit her as I was turning left on the adjecent lane. Thankfully my kids are alright. I think it was just me who suffered from whiplash. I am not looking forward to a long-time rehabilitation if that's the case. Hopefully not. Anyways, that's my rant. I hope you guys are having a good day. :-)

Cousins

The girls feel so special now that they have their very own first-cousin. They already look forward to the times when they'll get to play with him and teach him stuff. As you can tell from the pictures, their cousin is very alert, and likes to be part of the party.
Babies are so beautiful! They teach us more than we can ever teach them :-)

Science Centre

On the first Tuesday of this month, we went to the Science Centre for the third time in a month! The kids really liked it and they get a lot out of it...even Tiny T. All the splashing that goes on makes me wonder why I haven't learned my lesson and brought extra clothes :-) M has spent so much of her time on the conveyor belt they have. And F loves pretending to be the grocery owner at the "local market". It's a wonderful place where they really learn, role play and use their imagination. Next time we're there, I want to use their stage and do a play to CatChat or something, we'll see.

It's Easter

I must have been as ecstatic as my children come Easter morning. I woke up at 5 Sunday morning totally excited!!! The girls got spoiled as usual with lots of chocolate, balloons and clothes! They got to see a lot of family which was great! I was surprised how much they were able to retain about Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and how Jesus suffered, and on Easter how he opened the gates of heaven for all humanity. That summerizes our Christian beliefs in a nut shell. Great blessings that day :-)

Determination

One thing that I have gotten from reading Jesus' suffering after the Last Supper and from reading about Teresa of Avila's biography, is holy determination. The ability to have such clarity and the focus to know what is right and walk towards it without deviating in the slightest.

When reading the Gospel of Luke 23:8, many things struck me. For example after spending the night in prayer, while being arrested, Jesus was being questioned by Herod. Jesus could have easily deviated from the plan of his suffering and crucifixion by giving in to what Herod wanted to see, a sign. Perhaps Herod could have repented from his lifestyle by witnessing a miracle. It could have helped "the cause" of evangelization if an influential political leader became a follower of Christ.

Instead, Jesus kept quite while being questioned by Herod and allowed himself to look powerless and helpless. He went on to be scourged and crucified. He knew he had to do the will of God.

That's holy determination: having a definite clarity of what is the will of God and sticking to the plan. Even if other distractions-which may disguise themselves as godly opportunities-do arise, Jesus teaches us that it is more important to stay on course.

As we know later, through Jesus' crucifixion, we were freed from sin and the doors of Heaven were open for all humanity. That is holy determination. No other miracles can outdo what Jesus gave to us through his suffering and resurrection.

I feel so torn about us moving again to another town. It breaks my heart knowing that I have to leave my family and friends behind, the city I love and the not-so-hard-to-bear winters. I know that this move would be so beneficial for our kids because we would do so many nature/outdoor stuff as a family...it would bring us that much more closer to each other. I know it's right, I'm just scared because I'm afraid I'm going to be too isolated. Beacause I've never lived outside of a town or city before. And this will be the first time. At the same time, I'd feel guilty about staying here knowing that somewhere else would be better for our family unit. I can't complain too much because our new house is just lovely and charming. And to be honest, when we were there last, it was so easy to picture us there, and I felt a great deal of peace. I think I just don't like change. I hope we have a lot of friends who will come and visit :-)
